The way art and literature is created, consumed and shared with others is constantly evolving and changing. What are the most effective tools of today to create and share your work in different mediums, and what kind of stories can be told? This workshop will cover different forms of creating content and sharing them on different platforms, from visual artwork to podcasts and will show you how to plan, manage and optimize your strategies for sharing your work.

Breakdown by intervals:

5 min introductions and definition of goals as a content creator and their vision

15 min Q & A with guest (Carrie Pack, bisexual author and podcast host of BiSciFi)

10 min of interactive exercise of creating a draft timeline for executing vision

10 min of individual and small group discussion

15 min Q & A with guest (Jules Rivera, writer and comic artist on Instagram)

10 min exercise of creating social media posts specific to content

10 min closing and debrief

Total run-time: 75 minutes

What you will take away:

Participants will walk away with the rough draft of a plan to execute their vision as a content creator, as well as drafts of posts they can use for their social media immediately. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of new media for sharing art and literature as platforms for both content creation and sharing. Participants will have the opportunity to workshop with other attendees and give and receive feedback as they discuss their vision and its potential platforms. This workshop is designed as a fun, informative way to learn about new types of media and to learn from experts in the field.
