Cassandra Christenson literally bumped into Mother Teresa at the Miami Airport. The small woman flowing in gauzy white fabric, voice firm, finger pointing, urgent, “You work with AIDS.” Cassandra did not argue. Returned to L.A. and with Marianne Williamson, developed Project Nightlight, a program of care for those terribly alone with AIDS and in the last hours of life. Cassandra is a retired RN, speaker, workshop leader, and writer concerned that no one need die alone.
Her poetry is published in Lady Business: A Celebration of Lesbian Poetry, Sinister Wisdom, My Life Is Poetry and several Southern California anthologies.
